Kenya: Phaedra Surprised Me

Kenya Moore explains why she was so shocked that Phaedra Parks agreed to sit down with her one-on-one.

Bravotv.com: How did you get through that long flight to Manila?
Kenya Moore: I actually love long flights, because I can focus on writing, reading, and rest. When I’m home, I’m always moving so fast I can’t focus. Taking long night flights are the best.

Bravotv.com: Were you surprised Phaedra agreed to sit down with you privately?
KM: I was very surprised. It was confusing to all to see how easily Phaedra forgave NeNe for calling her the head doctor, never acknowledging she even knows her, and calling her dirty besides a few other things. Yet she has refused apologize to me or to forgive me after countless attempts to reconcile on my part. To my critics who ask why I keep trying, the answer is simple: It’s just too exhausting to carry around your baggage, and it’s been a long time coming.

Bravotv.com: Did you feel like the vibe changed for the better after everyone talked through their issues at dinner?
KM: I think it’s always good to honestly talk with an open heart and listening ear. It takes too much energy to hold onto the past.

I am happy that Kenya and Phaedra were able to bury their differences and become friends. All of that bickering was really wearing on them both. I just hope this little truce last and cancerous entities such as NeNe will not throw a monkey wrench in their truce. NeNe seems to have an issue with anything or anyone that has something to do with Kenya. If anyone is fake and phony is her!! She was in that tavern he hawing with Kenya saying they were friends and at Kandi’s house, she looked at Kenya like something disgusting. She also stated that her and Kenya would NEVER be friends. Either she was drunk at the tavern or just talking mess. Whatever case it was, THAT was phony and NeNe is quick to call someone else phony. She needs to change her tagline to I’m nasty and rude and I’m am also fake and phony. Kenya, keep being the strong beautiful woman you are and keep representing Detroit and later for these haters.

Forgiveness is great, but don’ put your heart out there to be stepped on. Be friends with those who have a heart to share.

I agree with what you are saying because Kenya has been stepped on for two years. I think Phaedra’s apology was from her heart and she strikes me as very classy and Christian woman. I just hope this new relationship last without outside entities souring it. Both women has gone through enough nonsense for everybody in that cast. Phaedra with Apollo and Kenya with her mother’s rejection, her father talking mess about her home and her feet, and ridicule from some of the cast members.

      • GetReal2014

I hope Phaedra is telling the truth, but it’s hard for me to trust a Christian who calls someone vile names over a two to three year period. She also lied about seeing texts from Apollo that were sexual in nature, texts that didn’t exist. In short, I don’t Phaedra is a Christian at all. Nothing she has said or done lines up with the Word.

        • Cheryl Lockhart

I agree, nothing does not disgust me more than a fake Christian who throw rocks and hide their hands behind The Bible. Phaedra’s apology did look genuine and I am going to give her the benefit of the doubt until I see different. I just hope she doesn’t get influenced to go the other way when she gets around NeNe and Porsha’s ditzy behind flips once she is in NeNe’s presence. We will see.

          • GetReal2014

Yeah, I missed Phaedra saying I’m sorry last week on the episode, but when I saw the First Look last night, she actually did. So as you said, we have to give her the benefit of the doubt. But you know Nene just put out an article saying Kenya’s apology was fake. I hope it’s not another “here we go again.”

          • Cheryl Lockhart

NeNe just plain old dislike Kenya and anything that has anything to do with Kenya. So naturally, she will say something derogatory about anything Kenya does. I just hope Phaedra does not buy into NeNe’s buffoonery. I hope it is not a “here we go again” either. NeNe is just like a poisonous weed in a beautiful flower bed ; if it takes over, everything just shrivel and die. I just hope these girls don’t let this happen to what they accomplished in the Philippines.

          • GetReal2014

Yes, she’s intimidated by Kenya and does everything she can to discredit her. But, that’s her problem and that’s how it comes off on the screen. I love your “NeNe is just like a poisonous weed in a beautiful flower bed ; if it takes over, everything just shrivel and die.” This is truth.

          • Cheryl Lockhart

Look at how she behaved on the episode last night. That was BIG of her to walk out instead of loud arguing in a place like they were with prominent people such as the Honorable Greg Mathis. However; I think that those women should let NeNe go on her way and not feed off into her buffoonery and cause her to act up. Claudia should not have followed her out trying to talk to her knowing that she is going to clown, even though she did leave. It is painfully obvious that she does not want harmony among the group. With that said, they need to just leave her alone and don’t deal with her anymore.

          • GetReal2014

I agree, Cheryl. You have to starve a fool. I wouldn’t pay her no never mind. I’d be having a good time and excluding her behind. That would bother her more.

          • Cheryl Lockhart

That’s for sure. All of those women need to stop giving her power to act up by feeding into her foolishness. Especially Claudia, and they need to stop kissing her hind parts.

We have discussed this so-called apology and patching up between Phaedra and Kenya in the Phillippines. Now that I saw the reunion, it looks like all of the “Roses and Lights” went out the window. Phaedra is back calling that girl a whore again. What happened to the “New Realtionship”? NeNe must have gotten in her ear again because Phaedra seems like she is turning her nose up at Kenya again. Go figure😳😳😳

  • Dandelion

I’m glad Kenya is such a forgiving person that would rather let things go than hold onto grudges. I honestly don’t believe Phaedra will hold her end of the bargain in this truce but I would want nothing more that to be wrong. Either way, Kenya has shown she has true integrity and the rare gift of true humility. This is why I have ALWAYS rooted for her. She’s a genuine soul, not perfect but I admire her aspirations greatly.

  • GetReal2014

You know it’s really disgusting for Phaedra to call herself a Christian. As a Christian she’s supposed to be following God, not Nene. And personally, I don’t know a Christian whose mouth and actions are as foul as Phaedra’s. And to show that on national TV is a huge deterrent to Christianity.

But, you reap what you sow, so it’s not looking good for Phaedra, because she will surely pay for her deeds.

    • Cheryl Lockhart

In deed!!! I really thought Phaedra was more classy than that and I did give her the benefit of the doubt. How wrong I was, all of that boo hooing and apologies was either a hellava act or she is really that weak minded to let an incouth fool like NeNe deter her from at least being civil towards Kenya. On the second installment of the reunion, she spoke on her “Juris Doctorate”. By her actions as an educated woman, she made herself look like an educated fool. I used to have MAD respect for Phaedra, however, after the last few episodes, the respect is dwindling away.

      • GetReal2014

Initially, I was on the fence with Phaedra, neither liking or disliking her. She was just there. But when she came on the show lying about her due date, I kind of gave her the side eye. I thought it was crazy that someone would lie about something so obvious to millions of people. And Kim Z. who was a nurse confirmed that Phaedra was lying, but Phaedra wouldn’t budge.

OK, I overlooked that, but when she lied again to Cynthia about the cursing over the phone, trying to look innocent, until Cynthia pulled the phone out, I was through with her, because that scene confirmed what a liar she was and how confident she was in getting over on people.

She also lied about the results of her and Kenya’s exercise videos. The truth is that although Phaedra’s video came out two weeks before Kenya’s, when Kenya’s was released hers soared past Phaedra’s within six hours. I never liked Phaedra again.

Who calls someone a whore for three years over that one incident at a pool party, I can’t. People always throw people in the pool, especially when they’re tipsy and having a good time. But to try to destroy someone’s reputation? That’s definitely outside the realm of being on a reality show. Phaedra’s going to pay big time for all the dirty deeds that she’s done, and she’s done plenty.

        • Cheryl Lockhart

I have not started watching RHOA until last two years and through the past two years, I am starting to lose respect for that woman. Like I said in an earlier post, there is nothing worst than a fake Christian who does dirt and hide behind the Bible.

          • GetReal2014

OK, that makes sense. She’s a piece of work. It’s her playing with God that I don’t like, but she’ll get hers.

          • Cheryl Lockhart

I am tripping on her lying about everything. Why lie about the breast enhancement surgery when one can look and see she had work done. What is the big deal?? Most of those reality show people have some kind of work done. Ill fate comes to those who play with God in the wrong way. She need to slow that mess down to a crawl because that bad karma could spill over to her children. It happens all the time. When you throw bad karma out to others it tends to come back threefold.
